Farm Units

Big Sky accommodation units range from 2-4 bedroom stand alone Manager/2IC units to multi-room staff quarters. Depending on your circumstances, farm accommodation may also be classed as capital expenditure and therefore be classed as tax deductible.

Horticulture/Viticulture Units

New regulations for orchard and viticultural growers regarding staff housing has pushed a surge in demand for on-site accommodation. Introduced in September 2019, all growers in Otago who employ workers under the Recognised Seasonal Employers (RSE) scheme must provide purpose-built accommodation, even if a grower has bought existing housing in towns.

The government has introduced the new regulations for RSE worker accommodation following an increase in the cap of workers coming to New Zealand under the scheme during the 2019/2020 season. Big Sky units fully comply with RSE regulations.
